It is estimated that 30,000 participants from 192 countries will attend the 9th World Urban Forum (WUF9) at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center (KLCC) which will be held for seven days and start on Thursday 8 February 2018.
 
The Minister of Municipal Welfare, Residence and Kingdom of Malaysia Tan Sri Noh Omar said there were more than 70 ministers and 20 deputy ministers from related countries will take part in 500 sessions.
 
He also said that, WUF9 has recorded the record by involving the largest number of participants since the event was held biennial by UN-HABITAT which began in 2002, and the number of 30,000 participants has also exceeded the target of only 25,000 people.
The Ministry has issued 5,000 pieces of special stamp of WUF9 output printed by Pos Malaysia and can be obtained at WUF9 outlets in KLCC, at a price of 60 cents, he said.
 
He said Malaysia was the second country in Asia to advocate related forums after Nanjing, China in 2006, and he also said that this forum is an urban sessions on the occasion of key representatives from individual countries, NGOs and development experts sustainable and settlement.
 
Meanwhile Minister of Public Works and People's Housing, Basuki Hadimuljono along with Minister of PPN / Head of Bappenas and Head of BMKG is scheduled to attend WUF9 on Thursday 8 February 2018.
