As a commitment of the Ministry of Public Works and People's Housing in the success of the National Water Rescue Partnership Movement (GN-KPA), the PUPR Ministry in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment and Forestry held tree planting simultaneously in 34 provinces. In North Maluku province, the tree planting movement has a theme on saving forests, soil, and water. The activity is centered in Ternate City, precisely in Toboko Reclamation Beach.

PUPR Minister represented by Secretary of Directorate General of Human Settlements, Rina Agustin Indriyani, said the tree planting movement is one of concrete action and concrete efforts to restore the condition of watershed as well as build public awareness to plant trees and maintain them.

"This year the number of trees planted by the Ministry of PUPR is 31,202 trees, and up to October has grown 160,195 trees, while in November to December as many as 201,007 trees. Meanwhile, in North Maluku province, 2,000 trees have been planted in several locations, including 1,000 mangrove trees in Maitara Island, and 1,000 trembesi trees and sengon trees in Togurara, Togafo and Loto urban villages, Kotatikep, "said Rina.

Meanwhile, Head of North Maluku Provincial BWS Dave Harol Muchaemin revealed that BPJN IX planted 140 trembesi trees, North Maluku Local Government also planted trees in West Halmahera Regency 95,512, East Halmahera 25,000 trees, and Tiworo Islands District 1,000 trees.

In addition, the Mayor of Ternate, represented by the Secretary of Ternate City, M. Tauhis Soleman, expressed his gratitude to the PUPR Ministry that set Ternate City as the location of tree planting in the framework of GN-KPA simultaneously throughout Indonesia.
